About Presence
Presence is a church that meets in downtown London. Our vision is to love God and practically love people. So, the foundation of who we are is a number of initiatives that give us the opportunity to help and befriend people who are oppressed, hurting, marginalized or disenfranchised.
Presence with one another. The Presence community is comprised of people from many unique backgrounds. Some even call us "eclectic". We place a high value on learning from those who are different than us (ethnically, religiously, etc).
Presence with God. We love our history and background of faith, and celebrate the eucharist (communion) and disciplines of quietness, reflection and artistic expression.
Presence with those in need. We have a very focused concern for the intersection of faith and social justice. Faith and religion is futility if it is not exercising compassion and justice for the hurting and oppressed.
The Presence gatherings on Sunday morning are very relaxed and informal. Our goal is to learn from one another, not try to put on a show. We value creativity and expression, but are extremely low on the "productionist" scale.
